CORE RANGE SELECTION
AFTER BATTLE PALE ALE ● 5.4% ● Draft
American Pale Ale
A medium-bodied, intensely hoppy, American-style pale ale. The ale is a deep golden, honey-like colour with a medium head that dissipates slowly. The smell is crackin', with aromas of citrus and passionfruit that carries through to the taste. The Simcoe/Citra combination of hops present heady tropical fruit notes, which are amplified through their addition after the Boil. there's a decent bitterness to this brew; providing a sharpness, but this is moderated and perfectly balanced by the subtle toffee sweetness from the malts and tropical fruit flavours. *‘After Battle’: A day in a passive aggressive combat with colleagues? 3 hours behind a dodgy mower in a war against knee high grass? You need a beer for freaks sake!
VIKING IPA ● 6.2% ● Draft
This beer makes a huge flavour- impact without being too heavy a brew.
Despite the wall of tropical fruit aromas you need to head-but your way through to take a sip, the mouthful is medium bodied and refreshing. The bitterness is sharp and clean with a medium-high carbonation emphasising the piquancy. However, the resiny character to the hops and the subtle caramel malt takes the edge off the bitter. The 6.2% alcohol content is barely detectable with only the slightest boozy-prickle. The perfect sessional beer.
BERSERKER ● 6.5% ● Draft
American Amber IPA
Berserkers were Germanic warriors who fought with an uncontrollable, trance-like ferocity. Our amber IPA is inspired by this passion, but with the additional reassurance of it having rarely invoked a desire in drinkers to partake in a bloodthirsty rampage...hardly ever*. This is a big beer. It pours a deep, radiant amber with a decent head. The nose reveals floral, passionfruit and orange aromas from the Mosaic dry-hopping, and roast and toffee notes from a complex malt profile. The taste presents a solid bitterness; however, the malt backbone and late in the boil/dry-hop additions balance this with a rich caramel/burnt sugar sweetness and elevating citrus and tropical fruit notes. *Ekim’s ‘Berserker’: more likely to inspire you to just drink another...than launch into a homicidal frenzy.
The Vinlander ● 6.0% ● Draft
American style Porter
In 1000 AD, Vikings rocked America, calling their old Norse hood, VINLAND. In 2013 America has completely done-over our dark Viking ale... Ekim’s porter is well-and-truly USA-ified! This intensely dark and luscious brew is defined by its mild, fruity American ale yeast, and loads of American Centennial hops added during the boil as well as in dry-hopping, thus imparting intense spicy, citrus and piney aromas and flavours into the beer. These flavours are further enhanced and complexified by the roasty chocolate/caramel malts, and balanced by a moderate firm bitterness, creating a rich, smooth and well-rounded beer.

'HEL'● 9.2% ● Draft
This is a dark and sexy beer (yep, 'sexy': we think 9.2 % is down-right raunchy) and so we named it after the Nordic goddess of the underworld, 'HEL'. The beer pours black as sin, with a dense, long-lasting head. The aromas reveal burnt sugar and subtle roast, balanced by some heady citrus and pine notes. The mouth reveals a seriously smooth, but ballsy beer. The significant bitterness is perfectly balanced by uplifting passionfruit/citrus/pine flavours from the intense dry hopping, and deep, rich, toffee [malt] sweetness. Warning: there is little evidence of the 9.2% booze, so watch this devious brew.

[RAGNA] RӦK ● 9.5% ● Draft
Imperial Pale Ale
This is an imperial version of Ekim's most popular beer, the After Battle Pale Ale. In Norse mythology Ragnarok is a great battle foretold to result in the end of the world...The ultimate after (all other) battles, Battle! RӦK: The ultimate after battle, battle beer! In contrast to it apocalyptic namesake, this beer is bloody ace (ie moderatley more enjoyable than a final gruesome battle in which everyone dies)! RӦK has more hops thrown at it, post-boil, than any of our other brews, which says a bit since all our beers are famous for their intense, uplifting flavours coming from the impressive volume of dry-hopping they cop. in fact RӦK has three times the Citra and Simcoe than After Battle, making it a showcase of Citra's passionfruit and Citrus characteristics, with added pine and earthy notes from the Simcoe. Meanwhile an extended boiling time and copious amounts of pale malts support the hop flavours and balance the alcohol whilst not producing a massive body for this beer. Which means you can smash a few.....why the hell not? It's the end of the world after all!
SLAMMER ● 6.2% ● Draft
Single-hopped/Tequila-spiked Pale Ale
Slammer is a tequila-spiked pale ale, brewed with agave syrup and using only Sorachi Ace hops. Sorachi's lemon-grass flavours, compliment the slightly sweet, herbacious and minerally taste of the tequila (which we add litres of after fermentation); creating an entirely unique DRY, refreshing, sessionable beer.

The aromas are intensely tropical with nuances of mango and paw-paw, with a hint of citrus. The pallet presents a marriage of honey-malt flavours and citrus-pine hoppiness. Finishes with a great balance, very drinkable.
