Coffee Amber Ale
As huge coffee fans as well as beer nerds, we wanted to experiment with adding various coffees to each of our core beers to see if we could enhance the flavours and create a completely different beer where the coffee aromas and flavours shine through but dont dominate the character of the beer. There is a huge coffee aroma coming from the glass, but the taste is significantly amber ale with a nice dry bitterness on the finish to taste. The coffee that was selected was the Kainamui from Kirinyaga, Kenya. Around 35 litres of the coffee was added to about 265 litres of fermented Amber Ale.
MILK STOUT - MAKER FINE COFFEE EDITION ● 5.2% ABV ● Draft
Coffee Milk Stout
As per the Amber beer the same process and ideals were present however the process of choosing the coffee was much simpler. Given that Grum & Fraser's personal favourite espresso blend, The Maven from Timbio, Colombia has been used in bean form on many occasions to run the Milk Stout through a randall with very popular results, it seemed a no-brainer to utilise The Maven cofee with the Milk Stout. The same 265 / 35 ratio is applied to the Milk Stout and gives a lovely warming, full bodied roast character to the existing Milk Stout.
