THE FIEND – noun. “someone who craves a certain substance.” Various fiends exist out there – the tweaker, the junkie, the pothead. We all know one. We’ve been called FIENDS too. Obsessed with getting our grubby mitts on the best Australian hops we can find and with an unshakable thirst for good, solid brews. We’re stoked to be sharing our fix with you. Using all Australian grown hops, we have created a sessionable, IPA-style beer with fresh hop aroma and a crisp palate. 40 IBU

Introducing THE DAMNED, our Eastern European-styled Pilsner – and our answer to the daily woes of thirst. The origins of the Pilsner date back to the mid-19th century in Bohemia – now encompassing modern day Czech Republic – a part of the world also known for its gothic mythology. Perhaps those blood-thirsty vamps could have taken it easy with a little Pilsner to quench their thirst – less drama that way. Be DAMNED if you do. Crisp and refreshing, THE DAMNED has been crafted with all NZ hops – Riwaka and Motueka hops highlight the profile. Classic Pilsner character with a distinct modern hoppy twist and big citrus all around. THE DAMNED pours with a spectacular head.

American Red Ale
Introducing THE BUZZ, our American Red IPA and part two of our nation-based IPA series. In naming this beer we sought out a great American number two – Buzz Aldrin – the second guy on the moon and literally only steps behind Mr. Armstrong. With the humbling success of our first release THE FIEND, this beer, like Mr. Aldrin, has some big steps to follow but we are confident this little hop dude can do it. Plus it weighs in at a decent 6.5% ABV – so, may the buzz be with you. THE BUZZ is a hop-inspired American red featuring all American hops – Amarillo, Symcoe and Mosaic, and boasting a big-ass malt profile. Layers of rounded red malt orbit a generous slue of piney, spicy and floral hoppy character. THE BUZZ pours a spectacular crimson colour. 65 IBU
THE CHOP ● 7.0% ABV ● 330ml Bottle/Draft
Not tied to any coast or fixed style, meet the newest member to our core line up – THE CHOP – an American style IPA.Pulling from Dunc and Sam’s time making wine in the states, with the help of a bevy of unique brews along the way, our new release is a chopped up take on a variety of IPA’s hailing from the USA. Pouring a hazy straw colour THE CHOP carries big citrus and tropical notes, finishing with a mild balanced bitterness. Featuring some of our favourite hops to date – Mosaic, Cascade, Simcoe, Ella.

At THE HEART of our Footscray brewery is most definitely this Pale Ale.A product of our obsession, made from long days of hard work and plenty of beer.Pouring a golden straw colour with a lacing head, floral and citrus hop aromas make for an inviting and crisp take on this infamous style.
THE PUNCH ● 4.0% ABV ● 375ml CANS/Draft
This isn’t your Nanna’s punch.A beer made for Summer – our Mango Gose is incredibly refreshing, mouth-watering and a little out there. Showing off a refreshing citrus acidity and a hint of saline smoothness, lifted mango notes and passionfruit pop from the glass. Drink it by the punch bowl. Unfined and unfiltered, THE PUNCH pours slightly hazy in the glass with a dark lemon colour.
THE MARKET NEIPA ● 6.0% ● 375ml CANS/Draft
Spiced NEIPA with Fruit
A hazy, juicy IPA that starts off hoppy, big and bold before a journey through the subtle flavours begin. Kaffir lime leaf, mango, coriander, Vietnamese mint and subtle chilli intergrate and lift this juicy IPA. Hops Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, Ella
ACID HEAD ● 5.5% ● 375ml CANS/Draft
Our ACID HEAD - hoppy sour, was originally brewed as a colab with Frankies Pizza but now we bring it to you in a can. A kettle sour made from a combination of wheat and pilsner malt. Then layers of hops added to the whirlpool and throughout fermentation. Including Mosaic, Motuaka, Citra and Nelson Sauvin. Refreshingly tart, Pale straw in colour, witha vibrant and fersh aroma of lemondrop, grapefruit and guava. Lively, crisp and sour on the palate with a diverse hop aroma.
JEDI JUICY ● 6.5% ● Draft
A short time from now, in a Galaxy not so far from where Galaxy is grown, two Australian progenitors of the milky IPA formed a Juicy Alliance to produce Clones of the same beer. Designed to bring balance to the Juice Force, the collaboration mashes up highly classified recipes from 3 Ravens and Hop Nation to produce twin beers with the same genetic makeup but raised in different fermenters with different yeasty parents. This summer, in a world-first Ozploitation double feature crossover, the siblings will be reunited - alongside 6 other IPA’s - while Australia’s biggest beer poll counts down from 100 to 1. Juice. Or Juice not. There is no clarity. Brewed over two days, Hop Nation brewed a batch of both Jedi Juice and 3 Ravens Juicy at their Brewery using their yeast and equipment (JEDI-JUICY) then blended and fermented together. The same was produced at 3 Ravens then the results offered up side by side in an Intergalactic IPA battle between Hop Nation & 3 Ravens.
THE RED RIGHT HAND ● 6.0% ● Draft
Manuka Smoked Red IPA
In collaboration with Boilermaker House a beer was created to match in a boilermaker with Lagavulin 8yr old. Using Manuka Smoked Malt in conjunction with 5 other malts this Manuka Smoked Red IPA was born. Centennial and Willamette hops were used in the boil and again as a dry hop. A rich red colour celebrates its namesake. The manuka smoked malt gives a warming bacon smoked aroma, layered between the piney hop characteristics.

Blood Orange IIPA
A vibrant, clean and citrus driven IIPA. Using dried orange peel in the boil and blood orange puree in the ferment creates a citrus aroma and drive on the palate. This is complimented by the generous addition of hops including Amarillo, Citra and Mosaic.
JEDI JUICE ● 7.1% ● 375ml CANS / Draft
Hazy, Juicy and with a citrusy hop aroma - finishing off with intense flavour and a great mouthfeel. Featuring Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Mosaic hops.
LE SOLEIL ● 5.0% ● Draft
Barrel Aged Sour Blonde
This barrel aged sour blonde combines the sour backbone with a complex nutty aroma. Bright in the glass, the flavour is elegant while managing to display layers of peach, apricots and subtle oak. The blend was aged in Chardonnay and PX Sherry barrels for 12 months.
LE GARNET ● 5.5% ● Draft
Barrel Aged Sour Brown/Red Ale
Predominately using 1 year old base. Aged in seasoned French barriques - 228L. The colour of garnet expresses its red/brown base origin. The aroma offers cherry and spicy, nutty almond, finishing with acetic, vinous notes. The mouthfeel is medium, the sweet and sour flavour a combination of dark fruit, sherry and clean fruity tartness. This gives the impression of an appetising balance of must, wood and sour fruit. Garnets are a group of silicate minerals that have been used since the Bronze Age as gemstones and abrasives. This beer is one of the first blends from Hop Nations Sour Program to leave the brewery. It is the beginning of our program and we are super excited to get it out to the public.
THE KALASH 2017 ● 10.2% ABV ● 500ml Bottle
Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout
Welcome to THE KALASH - a beer six months in the making and well worth the wait. After half a year in barrel, this aggressive Ruski, named after the notorious Kalashnikov rifle and weighing in at a heavy 10.2% alcohol, takes no prisoners! For the premier release of our Russian Imperial Stout back in 2016, Dunc and Sam pulled from their winemaking contacts to secure premium, seasoned Pinot Noir barrels for our ageing program. With our second release, comes the addition of aged Bourbon and Port barrels to the mix for extra complexity and interest. A rich, brewding beast, this RIS will take you to the dark side. BEER PROFILE: A subtle oak influence integrates with chocolate, tar and spice. THE KALASH was dry hopped with Simcoe before hitting bottle. Drink now to 2020.
THE STURM 2017 ● 5.0% ABV ● 500ml Bottle/Draft
CELEBRATE THE 2017 VINTAGE WITH A LIMITED RELEASE COLLABORATION BEER – THE STURM. Made with a nod to Germany – the Riesling motherland! – and to Dunc & Sam’s roots in winemaking. The Sturm is named after the thirst-quenching, lightly-fermenting grape juice traditionally consumed to help lubricate the long hours of harvest. Hop Nation and Jamsheed came together using wild fermenting Riesling juice – from Jamsheed’s Garden Gully vineyard in Western Victoria – for inoculation on a small batch of Hop Nation Pilsner wort. The fermenting juice hit the brew with the yeast it needed to kick off but also helped to impart a delicate Riesling character. The wort was hopped up with all German hops – selected to complement the Riesling juice fruit profile – Northern Brewer, Hallertau and Hallertau Melon feature. Brewed to honour the grape harvest and the special terroir that has nurtured the Garden Gully Riesling vines since the 1890’s. Cheers to the beauty of fermentation! BEER PROFILE: Crisp and refreshing, with a piney citrus lift and lively acid line – paying homage to the elegance found in a well-made Riesling.
HOP NATION/CLUB BREWING - NEVER MIND THE REINHEITSGEBOT ● 6.5% ABV ● Draft
A Roggenbier? An old German beer with a hefty addition of rye malt. The Roggenbier style was abandoned in 1516 with the introduction of Reinheitsgebot (German purity Law). It law dormant for nearly 400 years before being brewed again in the 80’s. Then in a collaboration between Club Brewing and Hop Nation it has been made here in Footscray. We also used a generous amount of US and NZ hops! Using a Hefeweizen yeast and lots of Rye the beer is floral and estery with a spicy backbone. Then the hops add something else….. Complex and delicious!
HOP NATION/HOPE ESTATE - BARREL AGED SMOKED PORTER ● 5.2% ABV ● DRAFT
Barrel Aged Smoked Porter
A "smoked and oaked" dark beer brewed in collaboration with our mates at Hope Estate. This special porter is loaded with notes of smokey bacon, vanilla, chocolate and toffee thanks to the use of smoked malt and ageing in ex shiraz wine barrels.
